My name is Susan Brocker and I’m the writer of books for older kids and teenagers. Some of my books are non-fiction, about topics like wildlife conservation, social history, and natural science. My favourite books are stories I’ve written about my favourite things, such as horses, dogs and animals of all sorts.

I also love bringing history alive and making it exciting – and sometimes the two come together in novels like in Restless Spirit and Brave Bess.
